HON. MUSALIA MUDAVADI, EGH, PRIME CABINET SECRETARY OF THE REPUBLIC OF KENYA & CABINET SECRETARY FOR FOREIGN AND DIASPORA AFFAIRS CONCLUDES OFFICIAL VISIT TO THE REPUBLIC OF NAMIBIA, 10TH SEPTEMBER 2024

Windhoek: Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, EGH., Prime Cabinet Secretary of the Republic of Kenya and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs made an official visit to the Republic of Namibia between 9th -10th September 2024. While in Namibia, the Hon. Prime Cabinet Secretary held consultative meetings with His Excellency Dr.  Nangolo Mbumba – President of the Republic of Namibia and the Vice President and further co -chaired political – diplomatic consultations with his counterpart, Dr. Peya Mushelenga, MP, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of Namibia.

The Hon. Prime Cabinet Secretary was accompanied by Amb. Denis Mburu, Deputy Director General of Africa Directorate, State Department of Foreign Affairs and other senior officials from several Government Ministries and agencies who held a successful Mid-term Review (MTR) on the inaugural Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation (JPCC) that paves for the two countries to hold a second session of JPCC at an agreed date in 2025.

Beside from reaffirming the special relations that Kenya and Namibia share, several pending cooperation frameworks from security, ICT, Trade and Investment, Agriculture and Education were discussed and mutual undertaking to fast-track their completion before the second session of JPCC.

As an 8th High Commissioner of Kenya to the Braveland, it underpins the special brotherly relations Kenya and Namibia share dating back to the latter’s liberation struggles in 1960s to UNTAG epoch and currently in bilateral exchanges in various development programmes.

During my tenure, I will endevour to further consolidate these cordial relations as were envisioned and started by the founding fathers of our two countries and my predecessors.
