The waiting period for applications made through the e-citizen system is about 10 working days and between 6-8 weeks for applications made manually through the High Commission.

Do I need to do anything else after I have registered via e-citizen system?

Yes, Kenyan citizens will need to have an e-citizen account. After you have dully registered and made the necessary payment for the services via e-citizen system; you will still need to send/post the original fingerprints and palm prints taken by Namibian police authorities or Notary Public or commissioner for oaths of your preference, together with a copy of payment receipt (issued via E-citizen) and copy of your 2nd Generation Kenya National ID Card (both sides) to the High Commission.

E-POLICE Clearance Certificate Application Only For Kenyan Citizens
  • Applicable to the Kenyan citizens who have attained a minimum age of 18 years

  • One must also be a holder of a second-generation Kenya National Identification Card.

  • You need to have an e-Citizen account. If you don’t have one, create the account by visiting www.ecitizen.go.ke.

  • Once logged in, please click Directorate of Criminal Investigations to start your application.

  • On the form when asked to state where you would wish to submit/have your fingerprints taken, please click Nairobi County then DCI/CDI, Headquarters.

  • You will also be required to select the preferred mode of payment and pay Ksh. 1,050 (including via M-Pesa for those able to use M-Pesa facility) before submitting online application. Those using foreign currency will be required to pay an equivalent of Kshs. 1,050.

  • Download and print two (2) copies of your payment invoice, and one copy of your C24 (dully filled Application) on both sides on an A4 paper.

  • Obtain a complete set of finger-prints and palm-prints. This must be taken in prescribed forms at a Police Station or Notary Public or Commissioner for Oaths of your preference in the United Kingdom which must also bear the official stamp/endorsement.

During the submission at the High Commission you need the following:
