This is a one-way travel document issued to Kenya citizens to travel to Kenya when they have emergencies and are not in possession of valid Kenya passports or have lost their Kenyan passports. This document is withdrawn by the Immigration officer upon arrival at the point of entry in Kenya.

  • Collection of passports is strictly only via postal services.

    As a measure in support of the containment of the spread of Covid-19, applicants are advised to provide at the time of application, a secure, registered and trackable self-addressed envelope with pre-paid postage stamps for the dispatch of their critical documents. The envelope should have sufficient return postage and clearly indicates full names and postcode of the applicant.

  • You must book an appointment online before visiting the mission.

     Incomplete applications will not be processed and will be rejected.

  • It is recommended that you apply for your emergency travel document not earlier than two weeks to your travel date.

  • An applicant needs to be sure which airline and routing they will use before submitting an application.

  • Persons who hold other nationality passports (Dual Nationals) are NOT ELIGIBLE for emergency travel certificates.

  • In line with health regulations, everyone coming to the Mission must wear a mask and note that social distancing rules will be enforced.

  • Original and copy of Passport.

  • Copy of applicant’s birth certificate both sides.

  • Police Declaration if passport is lost.

  • A sworn affidavit if the passport is mutilated.

  • Residence permit/Naturalisation certificate/proof of having regained Kenya citizenship and or declared Kenya citizenship.

  • Flight itinerary.
