  • All Kenyans who attain the age of 18 years are eligible to issuance of Identity Cards

  • Persons who have acquired Kenyan citizenship by registration are also entitled to issuance of identity cards

  • Persons who have lost Kenyan citizenship are required to apply and regain before applying for any Kenyan documents.

  • Kenyans with 1st generation Identity Cards are required to apply for 2nd generation Identity Cards

  • Collection of IDs is strictly only via postal services.

    As a measure in support of the containment of the spread of Covid-19, applicants are advised to provide at the time of application, a secure, registered and trackable self-addressed envelope with pre-paid postage stamps for the dispatch of their critical documents. The envelope should have sufficient return postage and clearly indicates full names and postcode of the applicant.

  • Valid original and copy of applicant's Kenyan passport.

  • Original and a copy of applicant's Kenya Birth Certificate.

  • A copy of parents' Kenya Identity Card.

  • A copy of parents' birth certificate.

  • Two passport size photographs.

  • Copy of Namibian residence, work permit/visa

  • Fee 4,507.85 Ksh or NAD 617.22 (Debit/Credit Cards only)

  • Any other relevant document/information that may be required.
